The Time It Takes Plot Synopsis

Nico and Lina’s 9 year relationship has come to a head. The passion is gone, their interests in one another have dwindled, and their time has run out.

Netflix’s latest Spanish drama, “The Time It Takes,” is all about a break-up in the moment and the days and weeks that follow. The show splits its timeline between the present and past, with chapters that are only a few minutes long. This clever idea keeps the break-up scenes withheld until the final scenes of the show.

Why do Nico and Lina break up?

Nico and Lina have a complicated history. Nico is the daughter of the head of a rival mafia family, while Lina is the daughter of a powerful politician. The timeline follows their typical love story until a twist in episode four. ..

Nico tells Lina that he was with a friend, but the truth is, he was out riding with a new co-worker called Noe. Lina has not been at his work very long and the pair have obviously grown close in that short period of time. Given Nico lied about his whereabouts, Lina presses him on the truth.

Nico cheated on Lina with Noe and then slept with her. He claims it didn’t mean anything, but it essentially starts off a downward spiral for the couple. ..

Nico has been growing more and more disenfranchised with this relationship, and he’s no longer passionate with Lina either. Eventually this lack of passion ends with the pair breaking up in a teary farewell during the final episode.

Why does Nico stop being so passionate toward Lina?

Nico is struggling with the aftermath of his cheating incident and how it has affected his relationship with Lina. He’s resentful of her for moving on, given that she has seemingly managed to overcome her grief.

Lina tells Nico that sheCoped with this by writing.

Nico returned from his trip to Zanzibar with a new perspective and a new beard. However, despite pledging his life with Lina, he wasn’t able to shift the weight hanging over him and so the pair ended up breaking things off. There is still love there though. ..

How does Lina get over Nico?

Lina heads off to Morocco on October 21st intending to visit a children’s hospital and course-correct her life. Lina has been stuck in a rut for a long time and this appears to be her way of trying to gain closure over losing Nico. ..

Lina meets a man while she’s in Rome and falls for him instantly. She feels the pangs of passion she’s been wanting all these years and decides to take things further.

Nico and Lina share a moment in the past that is strikingly similar to their current location. However, when Lina tried to get passionate with Nico, he shot her down, claiming his book is going to get wet. This parallels their past relationship in that they both refused to let their relationship get too physical.

How does The Time It Takes end?

Lina has finally come to terms with the death of her mother and father. She is ready to start fresh and move on. In earlier scenes, she cleans out her apartment to symbolize this. ..

Lina leaves her home in the city to move to Nico, a small town in the country. She tells her friends and family she’s moving away for a new beginning, but she’s not sure what that means. Lina has been with Nico for years, and they share a past that she can’t forget. Before Lina knows it, the series comes to a close.

Do Nico and Lina get back together?

So, what is the real reason these two are breaking up? It’s hard to say for sure but it could be anything from their differing work schedules to their different interests. Whatever the case may be, it’s definitely a big deal and will have a lot of people talking. ..

Nico cheated on Lina, and it’s a big elephant in the room that’s likely to cause a lot of doubts in her mind. However, given she still showed up on the rooftop on her birthday, it shows that Lina is still not 100% over her ex.

Nico has been struggling since his father’s death. His return from Zanzibar shows that he can make changes for a while, but he may relapse if he doesn’t keep up the effort. What’s to say he won’t do the same thing again now? ..

The Time It Takes has been a show all about moving on and learning to heal broken hearts and mend wounds. I’d like to think that Lina turns him down but the ambiguous ending leaves things up to us to decide.

So what do you think? Is it a happily ever after for the pair? Or is this a tale about moving on and starting fresh? ..

The Time It Takes Season 1 is a great show that I would recommend to anyone. The story is interesting and the acting is good. The only downside is that it takes a bit too long to get started.
