Big is at the scrapyard, and he can’t help Kenny Boy, so Kenny goes on his way. But not before grabbing one of the scrapyard’s sodas and downing it. The others watch, laughing. Big is surprised to learn that they had dosed the drink with psychedelics. Big has never done drugs in his life.

Kenny Boy, a 20-year-old college student, takes psychedelics for the first time and has a powerful experience. He runs into the forest to escape his fear and anxiety. ..

Big starts to see things that aren’t there and his grandma, Imagene, appears at one point.

“I know what you did,” she says. ..

The deer woman then stands over Big. She tells him he’s been a better man than his father. He runs away, again hearing sirens.

Kenny Boy wakes up to find water pouring down on him. They trip together and admiring the beauty of nature, until they start to hear a group of men chanting. “Our’s! Our’s!”

The Order of the Midstreamers, a white supremacist group, was conducting an initiation ceremony on Indian land when they were discovered by the activists. ..

Four people strip off their robes and reveal the bodies of men and the heads of catfish. They then start to have sex with fish carcasses, likely stolen from Cleo’s. ..

Big and Kenny run into the men, but they don’t seem to be scared. They laugh and hit Big and Kenny with their fists, yelling “ours!” ..

Elora’s mother, Cookie, is drunk and insists she has a “sober hand” driving her home. Big allows her to be.

When she gets on a motorcycle with a man Big can see is obviously wasted, Big pursues them in his car. They pull over briefly, but the man scoffs. He says he thought it was a “real cop,” then drives away. ..

Big watches as an ambulance arrives and flames engulf a motorcycle. He feels sadness for Cookie, who died in the fire.

Big wakes up, blindfolded and tied to a tree. He tells Kenny Boy that he’s not a good man. He failed his friends, let two people die. “Why did it happen?” he asks. ..

He wakes up in a clearing, his blindfold off. He looks around and sees the deer woman standing in front of him. She pulls out a gun and shoots him.

She kisses Kenny on the cheek and tells him she found him in trouble. She hugs him and tells him to take care of himself and to keep being good.

Big then calls in backup and takes the guns of the men the deer woman shot and goes after the rest of the secret society.

Kenny Boy and Heero end up on the news for breaking the secret society’s code.

“You’re a good man,” Kenny Boy tells Big. “I hope so,” Big replies. The episode ends with him walking home. ..

This is where the plot thickens.

Officer Big’s story is touching, and it’s also important to get more context to Cookie’s death. ..

Although this episode is emotional, it could have done more to integrate the importance of Big’s traditionalism into its story arcs with Cookie and the secret society.
