The Renovation Wife

In the latest episode of Fishbowl Wives, Takuya forces himself onto Sakura. Thankfully Haruto shows up and pulls him off her. Haruto refuses to hit the estranged husband though, and instead, takes Sakura and heads off. Just before he leaves though, he lets Takuya know that he’s already called the police.

Haruto opens up to Sakura and admits that she saved Ran and he’s been thinking about her a lot ever since. He knew who she was the whole time and it explains his excitement in seeing her again, given what transpired in the past. ..

After apologizing for not being more proactive and saving Ran himself, Haruto is confident that he loves Sakura and wants her to stay with him. He asks her to think about it before making a decision.

Sakura is determined to do this though and thanks to Masako’s influence and legal know-how, she talks her through the steps for divorcing Takuya.

Yuriha and her husband have a tense relationship with Takuya. Yuriha is prioritizing her mother over her husband, which doesn’t sit well with him. Additionally, Yuriha was actually Takuya’s mistress from before.

Yuriha starts to develop a closer relationship with construction worker Momoki, who has a bruise. However, he is nonchalant about his injury. Yuriha visits Momoki to have his tattoo sprayed over.

Yuriha is in the middle of a lot of turmoil. She has two homes, one where she feels authentic and connected to her family and friends, and another where she feels like she’s not really herself. Neither of her homes are truly her own.

Yuriha is adamant about having her own bathroom, something she asks her husband for. She feels that it’s a place where she can truly be herself and has the opportunity to design everything herself.

After enduring the wrath of her mother-in-law for years, the protagonist eventually succumbs to her feelings and sleeps with Momoki. The act is more about finding common ground than it is about romance, as the two are simply looking for a way to cope. ..

Haruto’s father asks him what his plan is, but Haruto is off-guard by the offer and decides not to take it.

Takuya’s business is failing, with the salon starting to go under and lose business. It’s ironic that he wanted to control Sakura and take her away, but she actually helps the business succeed. ..

Masako arrives with big news to cement Takuya’s place in this worlds. She has video footage of him abusing Sakura, which throws his reputation and image completely out the window.

The Episode Review

The situation between Takuya and Sakura continues to develop, with the former finding himself in hot water after the images of him abusing his wife. It’s a big blow for his reputation but hopefully something that sees karma come back and bite him for hurting Sakura so.

Meanwhile, the renovation storyline is pretty underdeveloped and there’s not a lot to this. We don’t learn much about the husband or the cheating here. This is almost encouraged, given the soft piano chimes and visual motifs used during this sequence. ..

The article discusses how a team’s strategy can be changed to advantage their opponent by cheating, which is questionable moral stance to take.

The show leaves everything open for the upcoming finale, with plenty of drama and romance left behind to encapsulate this long chapter. ..
