Lino and Amy are in their garden, Amy asks him to call his father and ask if they should plant the cabbage next to the sage. Lino’s father tells him that they should not plant the cabbage next to the sage because it will compete with the tomato plants for water and nutrients.

He calls his dad and they chat about the garden, his dad asks when his next doctor’s appointment is. He hopes Lino will receive good news and a clean bill of health.

Lino’s doctor has announced that the cancer is gone and he has been given a second chance at life. He will still need to come to the hospital for a check-up every three months or so, but he is all good to go. ..

The couple is ecstatic to hear this and is excited to move on from this ordeal. They celebrate the miracle with Amy’s family and friends and Lino later calls his parents to tell them the wonderful news. Unfortunately, his mom informs him of his dad’s passing but she is happy he is healthy now.

Amy and Lino decide to try IVF in order to conceive. They are not happy with the idea of going through IVF, but they are open to the possibility of adopting if that is what is best for their family. They visit an adoption agency and are hopeful that they will be able to find a child who needs a home. ..

Zora and Ken’s wedding day was a joyous occasion. Zora gave her bridesmaid, Amy, a gift and Amy was sad that everyone had been getting her baby-related gifts even though they didn’t have a child yet. Zora asked her not to give up, she wanted Amy to be able to complete her family as she wished.

Lino and Zora are overjoyed to have found their daughter and are grateful to the birth mother for choosing them. They tell her that they will love the baby and be there for her as they have been for each other.

Amy and Lino take Idalia home and everyone in the family is happy to welcome a new member. The couple adjusts nicely to being parents and Amy decides to get back to work so that she can provide financial support for the family when Lino stays at home with Idalia. ..

In the fall of 2011, Idalia is now in preschool. She and Lino have grown close and she feels like a bad mom as work keeps her from being at home full-time. She confides to Zora that she feels jealous of the relationship Idalia has with her dad. She wants to be there too. She shares this with Lino and he offers to start cooking lessons to help alleviate their financial burden off Amy. This will allow Amy some free time to spend with Idalia and also work on her art. ..

Lino and Amy had been dating for a few months when he told her about his visit to the doctor. They were both surprised and happy to hear that something was wrong. They decided to go on a date after that. Lino was worried that the cancer might have returned, but it didn’t.
