The Guardians of Justice are preparing for a big PR campaign. Specifically, they’re going to appear on the Phil Hart Show to try and save face. Just before they do though, an explosion rocks Lockwood Industries.
Meanwhile, Awesome Man phones Speed and tries to arrange a meeting. He struggles to get his words out and eventually tells her he’s lonely. Since Marvelous Man and Sepia Spider’s death, he’s realized that life is short. Speed understands how he’s feeling and the pair agree to meet for a date. ..
After interrogating King Tsunami, Hawk learned some juicy scandalous details. It turns out Marvelous Man’s partner, Laura, was cheating on him with King Tsunami. ..
The world’s most perfect man, Hawk, admitted to being exhausted being with Laura. The trouble stemmed from the fact that they had nothing in common. Hawk felt like he was drowning in her shadow and the pair slowly drifted apart.
The drug Mellow Devil has become a major problem in London. The police force are struggling to keep up with the demand, and many people are reporting that they have found true happiness after using the drug. However, there is still much that the police force are not able to understand.
After further investigation, Hawk learned that Black Bow and Blue-Scream were heavy users of Mellow Devil and Marvelous Man.
Marvelous Man threatened to revoke their membership to the Guardians and tell the media everything. The night Marvelous Man died though, both Black Bow and Blue-Scream have an alibi. They were both getting high, deciding to have one more night of blocking out the horrors they’ve experienced through their time as heroes.
Hawk implores the addicts to come to the citadel and seek help. He promises that he will find Marvelous Man’s killer and bring hope back to them. ..

The Mellow Devil is a powerful drug that has been linked to many deaths and disappearances in the city. The Guardians of Justice are determined to find out what is behind its popularity and why so many people are dying from its effects.
The Marvelous Man Investigation Could it be that the Marvelous Man was manipulated into killing himself as a result of this drug?
This episode does quite well to touch on the subject of substance abuse, with a pretty decent thought provoking inclusion of these two Guardians that are suffering from PTSD.
Marvelous Man’s death is still a mystery, with some believing he was killed by someone else and others believing he committed suicide. Regardless of the truth, this conflict is far from over. ..
