Good Hours

Brayden’s telekinetic ability has allowed him to control the minds of others, and he’s been using it on Dion to get him to do his bidding. However, when he uses it on Brayden, he changes into a young boy who is desperate and vulnerable. This makes for an interesting development in the story, as we see how Brayden has grown since his last appearance.

Dion is thrown out of his mind when he’s left alone in a car. Brayden runs away, but Tevin and Dion are too quick for him and they manage to slip away in a car.

Suzanne arrives with bad news. Nicole will be completely transformed in less than two days. Suzanne has a risky solution, which comes from injecting her with tiny doses of the serum in the hopes of slowing the rate of infection and preventing more spores from being made. ..

Suzanne estimates that she would have about 36 hours more time if the surgery were successful. ..

Dion shows up at BIONA and reveals what’s happened with Brayden. Suzanne intends to bring in a SWAT team to arrest the boy, although Dion is convinced that he’s not outright evil, especially given what he’s seen inside Brayden’s memory palace.

Nicole speaks to Kat about her situation. She urges Nicole to use Dion’s healing powers to try and cure her but she refuses, believing he’s not strong enough to do this. Instead, Nicole has decided to give him the perfect day, deciding to be there for Dion during his big school play and try to keep everything normal.

The SWAT team show up to try and find Brayden. He’s not in the house though, and in fact he’s actually out by the shed, hiding.

Brayden is struggling to control the Energy around him. It’s stronger now and is trying to take him over. He can’t seem to fight it off, and it’s starting to hurt him. The Crooked Energy swirls around him, telling him he needs to use his mind control and hit back but Brayden refuses. At least for now. The Energy is much stronger now than it was before, and because of that, the Energy infects him and takes Brayden over completely.

Dion senses this too, believing the boy has gone completely. Not only that, Nicole’s infection starts to get worse, with her struggling to inject the serum and stop the flow of infection. ..

Kat arrives at BIONA to help with the infection. Pat is working on a gene therapy that will create Powered beings. Specifically, he’s going to create a form of Powered DNA that will thwart the infection. As they begin researching, it appears that BIONA may actually be able to manufacture their own Powered beings and even change what powers each person has too. ..

On the final day, Nicole and Dion spend time together making pancakes. Esperanza helps her with her song too, before heading out for an impromptu date with Tevin. He promises to be there for Dion if/when she passes away. ..

Nicole and Harry chat about the past as they prepare to kiss. Nicole’s infection turns for the worse, and she needs help getting to the hospital.

Brayden shows up at school and starts using his powers. Dion and Esperanza don’t know what to do, so Brayden starts telling them about his power and how it works. Jonathan wakes up from his slumber and they all get back to their normal lives.

Thankfully, the triangle of justice helps to turn the tide of battle, using a fire extinguisher to throw Brayden off his game. When he tries to mind control Esperanza, she thwarts it by…. not listening? I dunno, it’s not really explained but the triangle of justice comes out victorious nonetheless.

Dion is taken home by Tevin, where he finds Nicole sick and incredibly weak. Dion’s healing powers also fail to work.

BIONA’s top scientist, Pat, is taken off the case after he expresses concerns about the experimental serum. However, Pat takes the serum himself and begins to convulse and fit on the floor. ..

The Episode Review

The Raising Dion episode “Shaky” left Pat feeling off the case. Reasons for this are still unknown, but David seems to be unaffected. He’s now working with a new team and seems to be doing just fine. ..

That feels like a betrayal of what we saw earlier in the season, given that David was the one who actually encouraged Pat to get involved. I know he’s the “bad business man” in this, but it reeks of poor character depth.

Esperanza’s decision to sing to stop Brayden’s mind control is another weak element of this show. I mean, they could have had her sing to stop the mind control, which would tie her sub-plot into the larger conflict. ..

There’s a return to the Tevin and Nicole romance which feels completely ill-fitting, especially the jokes and ease that they’re talking. This is supposed to be Nicole’s final day before potentially passing away!

In the final two episodes of “The 100”, it is clear that things are going to get better for the characters. However, what will happen to Pat and Nicole after their infection and injury is left up for debate.
