In episode 6 of Servant Season 3, Sean prays for guidance as he struggles to find his place in the world. This juxtaposition is quite the contrast from what we’ve seen before, as one of the best episodes of this season begins.

Leanne is more erratic than usual and has been having bad dreams. She doesn’t look well and Dorothy is concerned when she heads up to see her. Dorothy is proud of her taking the first steps to normality, but of course she’s unaware of what actually happened during the block party.

Dorothy opens up about Sean’s newfound faith in God and his new job hosting another cooking show. He’s pessimistic about the whole affair though, deciding not to take it. For now, Sean invites Nancy, the minister from the church, over for dinner. And that, obviously, doesn’t sit well with Leanne. ..

Leanne was held against a tree by her husband and his friends after they caught up with her in the park. They demanded she play ball and threatened to kill her if she didn’t.

When one of the squatters shows up at the back door, asking for Leanne, Dorothy’s concerns are only made worse. Not only that, she opens up the washing machine and finds Leanne’s blood-stained clothes inside.

Dorothy concernedly cycles through the CCTV footage of the house where she finds Leanne running away from the couple. She can see that Leanne is quickly getting away and she is worried for her safety.

The squatters actually killed the couple in front of her and prevented Leanne from being killed.

The men and women there are now Leanne’s new followers. They’ve become disillusioned with her and are now outsiders, spurred on by Leanne turning away from them and still surviving.

Dorothy takes Leanne aside and asks her why she didn’t say anything after the party. Leanne tries to use the pretense that she was trying to keep them safe, but Dorothy starts spiraling, realizing the cult are after her. When she asks Leanne if she’s worried or scared, she nonchalantly shrugs it off, simply claiming she’s “not ready.”

Nancy starts to back away from the table, but Leanne keeps pounding on it. She demands to know what Dorothy knows about her past, and why God won’t help her. Dorothy can’t remember anything specific, but she does remember that she was abused as a child. She tells Leanne that she’s been through a lot of pain in her life, and that God has helped her through it all.

Nancy’s mother had dementia at the time too, which makes it even worse.

Nancy runs away and Julian and Leanne end up smoking weed outside. Naturally, Leanne gets the munchies and ends up eating Pringles upstairs. Sean shows up and asks how she knew about Nancy. Instead, she changes the subject and tells him to take the job, reinforcing that they’ll be fine there without him. ..

The Episode Review

The show has been off the rails for the past four episodes, with a creepy episode that left many viewers feeling uneasy. The show has been struggling to keep up with its plot development and drama, and it seems like this is only going to continue.

Last week’s chapter provided a lot of new information about Servant and its leader, Leanne. This week’s chapter builds on that information and hints at the possibility that she may form her own cult or army of followers in order to fight Aunt Josephine and her followers.

Slow-burning drama finally appears to be moving in the right direction. Let’s hope it continues that way over the weeks ahead. ..
