The Dragon Prince was a real surprise hit last year, leaving the door wide open for an inevitable second season following a cliffhanger ending. While the 9 episodes depicted in this follow-up don’t quite match the excellence of the first season, there’s enough character development and action to make for an enthralling watch nonetheless as the journey to Xadia draws to a close.

As the group rests, they are approached by a cloaked figure who introduces himself as Viren. Viren reveals that he has been seduced by the dark arts and is now under the control of a mirror that allows him to see into the future. He offers to help the group bring Zym back to his rightful place in the kingdom, but only if they agree to fight in his war against the other nations. The elves and humans refuse to fight one another, but Claudia and Soren decide to join Viren in his war.

The story begins with Callum and Prince Ezran, who are on a journey to find the dragon egg. They are joined by Claudia, who is also looking for the egg. The three of them are soon joined by Soren, who is also looking for the egg. They all end up getting lost in the forest and come across a dragon. The dragon starts to attack them and they all end up getting killed. Claudia saves Callum and Ezran from the dragon and they return to the castle.

The Dragon Prince is a visually stunning anime that features exciting action and frame-rate improvements. The fight scenes are particularly exciting and the show has some great set pieces. The animation is slick and the overall look and feel is great.

While the plot is not as strong as it was in the first season, the characters are so compelling that it makes up for it. The writing is excellent, making this a well-written season.

The Dragon Prince is a great series that I’ve been eagerly waiting for. The rich historical lore combined with empathetic, deep characters makes it a really compelling series to dive into. Despite another cliffhanger ending, the second season does a good job keeping the momentum going in one of Netflix’s most promising animated offerings.
