The four girls have released no more than 30 songs over the last six years and still made it to the top with their limited discography. This proves that a person can work hard and not hard to still be successful.

Despite the fact that their fans had been vocally demanding new songs for the girl group in order for them to break records in the competitive K-pop industry, the girl group finally released their first original single, ‘Pink Venom’ on August 19. The song is a ballad that tells the story of a young woman who is forced to fight for her life after being infected with a virus that causes her skin to turn pink.

The song is a catchy and upbeat track that will get you moving. It is a pre-release track from Blackpink’s upcoming album, ‘Born Pink’ which will drop on September 16 this year. The song is already breaking records one after the other as it becomes the best-released single of the year and Blackpink’s most successful song to date.

Music

Blackpink’s music is always in high demand, and it seems to stay popular even when the group isn’t on tour. For example, their latest song, “Playing With Fire”, was released just a few weeks ago and it has already been streamed over 100,000 times. Additionally, “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” and “Boombayah” have been featured on various songs this year and have been watched over 10 million times on YouTube.

The song’s catchy melody and music is Blackpink’s USP. The song starts with one melody, but it works its way to another midway through, only to drastically change into a third rhythm that is very chaotic.

Some music analysts believe that “Pink Venom” was made with the sole purpose of becoming a viral hit on TikTok. The song’s slow, repetitive rhythm and heavy use of synthesizers makes it seem like it was made primarily for the app, rather than presenting a well-crafted piece of music. ..

Arrangement and Melody

The song opens with a traditional beat with a switch up to drums. Jennie and Lisa’s rap moves on to an electric guitar as Rose belts out her immense vocals. However, this flow is abruptly lost as soon as Jisoo’s voice is backed up with upbeat drums.

The beat in the song is really catchy and addictive. The lyrics are also really interesting and keep you interested throughout the song. The tempo of the song is also really good, making it a great choice for dancing or listening to on a rainy day.

The beat drops and the song starts with a question. Why did it feel like this? The melody felt like it was pieced together from a good song on its own, but I have questions about why it was chosen.

Style

The song is a mix of the hits “Kill This Love” and “How You Like That”, but it is said to also include interpolations from past hits like “Kick In The Door” by Notorious B.I.G, “Pon De Replay” by Rihanna, and “P.I.M.P” by 50 Cent. However, these interpolations make the song repetitive.

The song is catchy and addictive, but it doesn’t offer anything new or different from the original. The single is a hit and it takes fans back to the original. However, ‘Pink Venom’ fails to offer something new and different from the girls.

Blackpink and their producer Teddy Park have successfully replicated the formula for success, resulting in “Pink Venom” feeling like a recycled song with the same blueprint as Blackpink’s older title tracks. ..

The song has less meaning as most of their work goes into keeping the production value, aesthetics, and Blackpink’s trademark “big-scale music video” in check.

Lyrics and Message

Blackpink released “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” without any clear message to their fans. The lyrics are not different from their other songs, and each line seems like a diss to their trolls. The song is catchy and well-produced, with strong rapping by Jennie and Lisa. Fans seem to be enjoying it. ..

Rose really is an underdog among the foursome and I wish her mesmerizing vocals got more attention with ‘Pink Venom’ in comparison to the other three.

The song has a catchy melody and lyrics that stick with fans. If you find yourself humming or singing along, it’s likely because you’ve been enjoying the song for a while. The lyrics are classic and can be found on most popular songs.

Music Video

The music video in my opinion is the most important part of the single. The girls are one team, but their differences show as each member is good at something in comparison to the other. ..

The group BTS has been praised for their music video for “DNA.” Despite the inconsistencies in the song, the video is still praised for its visuals and music. ..

Lisa takes a bite out of the black-pink apple from “How You Like That” and her eyes turn pink. Jennie comes into the scene in a giant vehicle much like the tank from “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.” ..

After the events of “Kill This Love” and “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” all four members shone brightly in their respective songs. However, some credit goes to the rap line in “Pink Venom” for having a more significant impact. ..

Conclusion

The song is great, but the ‘Ratata’ part seems unnecessary. The song is overall a great listen, but it can be improved by removing some of the unnecessary tracks.

The four members of the band didn’t fit well together. Jisoo’s voice didn’t fit with the other three, Jennie killed with her opening line, Lisa’s mid-section rap was tenaciously holding on to the listener, and Rose’s bridge was my personal favourite part of the entire song while Jisoo is exceptionally pleasing to the eye as she exudes grace all through the video.

Blackpink’s ‘Pink Venom’ is a catchy and poppy song that many people enjoyed. Some people thought it was too poppy, while others thought it was catchy and well-written. Let us know in the comments below what you thought about the song!
