Road Trip

Andy races up to the storage unit. She almost falls asleep at the wheel though, prompting her to stop and pick up a map of Georgia (which, by extension, includes Carrollton) and some snacks. She’s clearly rattled over what’s happened and the cashier has a concerned look on his face.

Andy makes the trip to Carrollton, Texas, and follows the directions her mom gave her. She doesn’t really question it either, although she does stop at an internet café to find out how long the drive will be (over 19 hours!). She also looks at the local paper.

Prior to a bag being put over her head, Laura mentioned the name Paula. This suggests that Laura may have known something about the impending attack. ..

Detective Wilson heads to Laura’s house to question her about what happened the previous night. She claims that a gunman was at the door, but this is a lie. ..

Detective Wilson seems to be able to see through the lies that Laura tells, and believes there’s more to her than meets the eye. He manages to hide the bloodstained rug from the officers, but is eventually outed by them.

Andy prints out some papers from the library, but notices a suspicious man with a hoodie nearby. She believes herself to be in danger and leaves the library, walking to the Get & Go store far away from where she was told it was. ..

She climbs in and drives away, leaving the car all primed and ready to go. There’s a gun inside the glove-box, as well as a whole bunch of gear in the back – including a big old pack of water.

The woman has hidden a lot of money and IDs inside a secret compartment in her suitcase. There is also a secret compartment here that includes a ridiculous amount of money in a suitcase. There are also a whole bunch of different ID cards with her mother’s face on. Is this going to be like the movie Jason Bourne where he is trying to figure out who she is? ..

Andy’s perception of her mother changes, but she continues on to Maine as she was told.

Back home, Laura confirms that “he’s here.” That gunman from the night before is still alive, as it turns out, and he’s tied up and gagged.

Gordon wants to phone the police but Laura is convinced that they are going to come after her and, by extension, Andy. Quite who these people are and what they intend to do though is still unclear. For now, Andy holds up at the local motel.

Meanwhile, Laura and Gordon drive with their captive but as he starts having a seizure, Laura is forced to pull over the car. “He’s going to kill you.” The man rasps, before passing away. Unfortunately it seems Laura’s past is coming back to haunt her. Gordon and Laura are driving with a hostage when he has a seizure and dies. It turns out that the hostage’s past is coming back to haunt him. ..

Laura heads home to clean up the blood on her rug. At the same time, Andy gets talking to a guy called Jack at the bar. Jack mentions his marksman competition, prompting Andy to chirp up and urge him to teach her how to fire a gun. ..

Andy thanks the man for his help, but he notices something strange in Andy’s car after their session. He wonders what could have caused Andy’s paranoia and whether her mother has got her into something dangerous.

The Episode Review

Andy leaves town, seemingly being followed by someone who wants her dead. But why? What’s happening with Laura? And who is this person who’s after her? ..

Detective Laura has been linked to shady pasts in the past. It seems that detectives are starting to become suspicious of her as well. Let’s hope that this is explored more in the future. ..

The mystery of what is happening in Maine continues to intrigue and keep things interesting. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to find out what Laura is hiding – and just what is in Maine anyway.
