Tommy finally learns that his safe is missing. It took a while but he eventually catches up and calls the police. Tommy is not confident that the cops will make this a priority though, so naturally they decide to bring in a private investigator instead. Anthony starts to do some digging and brings the attention across to Rand. ..
Rand begins the conversation by asking the man if he has any tape of himself and his girlfriend having sex. The man says no, but he does have a tape of Rand and another woman having sex. The PI is interested in this tape, but Rand is not. He asks the man if he knows where the tape is, to which the man responds with a sad look.
Pam immediately finds the tape has been distributed, courtesy of a group of cameramen huddled around a monitor. ..
Tommy and his friend go to the library and try to find a phone number that leads back to Canada. They realize that this is part of a larger operation and Tommy gets angry. He starts asking around for Rand, the person who is distributing the tape, intending to bring him and everyone else pain. ..
Anthony is trying to get the tape from Pam and Tommy is fighting over it. Pam is distraught because this is worse for her as a woman. Tommy puts his foot in it and says that there’s nothing new on the tape. ..
Pamela experiences pain in her stomach in the morning. The pair drive together and go to the doctors. Unfortunately, Pamela has lost her baby. ..
Rand is running away from Anthony and his goons, but he’s not sure how long he can keep the charade going. He’s hoping that Miltie will come back to Amsterdam and change the IR codes so they can keep their identity a secret. But Miltie is already on her way to Amsterdam, and Rand is likely going to be caught soon.
The Episode Review
This episode does a great job humanizing Tommy and Pam, and especially the latter when she loses her baby. Lily James has done a brilliant job bringing Pamela Anderson to life and this whole scene about Pam learning about her loss is so well composed. You don’t need to be told what happens - you just know. ..
This chapter turns the attention around to make Rand look like the bad guy, although the opening few chapters worked really well to actually give an incentive for Rand to steal the safe and the gear in the first place.
Although this has been the shortest episode thus far, it’s actually the most impactful. There’s not a single minute wasted and there’s a decent amount of drama too. Quite what’s in store for our characters next though, remains to be seen.
