This year has been a banner year for K-dramas with female-led stories. There are many shows following the female-led narrative, but Little Women presents an entire K-drama run solely by women. This is a significant shift in the industry, and it’s clear that women are leading the charge in creating these stories.

The show features an actress who has made her name known in recent years due to her intense acting skills and her funny and goofy off-screen presence as its main lead. Not only that but the show’s villain is a female. This makes Little Women one of the most empowering shows on television.

The show follows the three sisters Oh In-joo, In-kyung and In-hye as they navigate their way through life. They have to deal with the challenges of being raised by their single parents, making sure their younger sister does not lack in any way. The sisters must also work to find themselves and find a place for themselves in the world. Along the way, they must overcome obstacles and make sure that their youngest sister does not lack in any way.

The sisters have different dreams but all of them are haunted by poverty. In-joo dreams of marrying a rich man and In-kyung hates being poor, while In-hye wants to be an artist and is burdened by the fact that she can’t provide for her sisters. ..

After befriending Hyo-rin, In-joo begins to understand the disparity between the rich and the poor. Surprisingly, In-joo is working for a family run by the same family. In-hye and In-joo’s involvement with the family somehow catapults In-kyung into discovering wrongful activities involving multiple victims.

In-kyung and her sisters start a battle with a powerful organisation that could destroy them and their family. In-joo suddenly finds a huge sum of money that her “poor” friend left behind for her and In-hye only wants to make it big on her own two feet. There is so much going on around the three sisters that they eventually find themselves in the middle of a deadly organisation that can either fulfil all their wishes or kill them.

Little Women is an excellent story with well-developed characters. Kim Go-eun does a great job in her role as In-joo, but it is Uhm Ji-won who steals the show with her performance as Won Sang-ah. From playing the victim card to acting like a total lunatic, fans really loved to hate Sang-ah. ..

Fans of the romance drama “In-joo and In-kyung” started to develop strong attachments to their respective love interests, Do-il and Jong-ho. Despite not being a romance drama, the fans felt that there was a nice conclusion to some of the conflicts between the two characters. However, there were also points of contention between the two characters.

The show is set in the fictional town of West Egg on Long Island in 1922, and follows the story of a Korean family who move to the small town after their father’s death. The show pays homage to the famous American novel of the same name, but there have certainly been other cinematic adaptations of Little Women. The modern-day retelling of the story is centred around a Korean family and this is what sets the show apart from its other adaptations.

Episode 11 of Little Women was a great way to close out the season. The runtime was perfect and the performances were amazing. I wish the series would have gone slow-burn instead of having each episode with a runtime of one hour or more.

The cinematography of the show is exceptional and every freeze-frame can be analyzed. The power dynamics can be explained without using words and gestures; eating an apple is enough to convey an apology. Each character can be analyzed in-depth there is so much to unravel with each character and their arcs coming to a full circle by the end of the season finale.

The Little Women drama has been stirring up a lot of discussion online and fans have started petitions for the makers of the show to change certain romantic outcomes. However, this well-written drama is worth watching.
