In Between Seasons

Ha-Kyung wakes up to her mother asking what’s wrong and she can tell she’s upset. She tells her that she had a dream about Ki-Jun and it made her cry. Her mother is worried but Ha-Kyung assures her it’s not because of him. She then tells her sister that she had a dream about Ki-Jun and they all laugh.

Si-Woo is conflicted, torn like the changing seasons that are upon them. With the weather hot but the time of year still spring, he’s unsure exactly how to approach this day. It’s a nice way of giving some context to what’s happening in his life, and it’s only compounded further by Si-Woo wearing the exact same clothes as the night before.

Ha-Kyung was running late for her meeting this morning, so she left her keys at Si-Woo’s place. When she got the bus, she ran into trouble. She missed the morning meeting and ended up spilling all of her gear over the floor. ..

Senior Director Um tries her best to help, evendropping tissues over by her desk when she starts sneezing while communicating on-air. It’s no good though and eventually Senior Director Um is forced to take over.

The gang members of Si-Woo’s neighborhood deliberated over whether or not to lift the high speed wind warning. Ha-Kyung decided to assess the situation and check back in 3 hours time. ..

“Hey, Si-Woo,” Yoo-Jin says, “I thought you were going to leave.”

The fishermen in the region are unhappy with the message board going crazy, lots of calls coming into the weather center, and a very frustrated Ki-Jun showing up. ..

Ha-Kyung is the one who takes risks and jumps in to help Si-Woo, which gives him the courage to lash out and force Ki-Jun back to his department.

The team collects more data and realizes that it is difficult to know for certain whether they should lift the ban on fishing. Ha-Kyung chooses a cautious stance and leaves the ban in place until 9pm. Si-Woo is not happy, believing they should lift it but the ship has already sailed. ..

Ha-Kyung is frustrated after a long day at work. She’s discouraged after a difficult encounter at the grocery store. Mrs Lee, a woman who asked about her daughters and specifically Ha-Kyung’s wedding, provides some relief. The wedding was called off because of an illness.

Ki-Jun is surprised to find that his apartment has been trashed. Yoo-Jin, who he thought would be more understanding, tells him that she moved in with her boyfriend and didn’t tell him about the apartment until after the fact. Ki-Jun is confused and doesn’t know what to do.

Ki-Jun and Yoo-Jin are both clearly going through the motions and individually realizing that the grass isn’t actually greener elsewhere. They’re both trying to act like they don’t know, but it’s clear that they do.

That night, a potential buyer for Ha-Kyung’s gear shows up. It’s Si-Woo. She won’t sell it to him for obvious reasons and tells him to leave.

Si-Woo gives her some solid advice over selling her items online effectively. Ha-Kyung can’t stop thinking about Si-Woo the whole time and eventually the pair head out for dinner (mostly because Si-Woo tells her to make it up to him for helping her!)

A group of weather personnel show up while Si-Woo and Ha-Kyung are out and the situation causes Si-Woo to help Ha-Kyung make a break for it. Si-Woo follows and calls out Ha-Kyung for having feelings for him. Si-Woo also admits indirectly that he has feelings for her too but leaves it up to him over what to do. ..

The Episode Review

This show is just getting better and better! Forecasting Love and Weather delivers a really good episode this time around, with Si-Woo and Ha-Kyung growing closer together and in doing so, there’s a great balance or comedy and romance across the hour long chapter.

The weather has made it difficult for some people to do their jobs, and that is especially true for those who have to make calls in the heat of the moment. This job is very important, and people should do their best to make sure that they are doing it right.

The ongoing romance between the lead pair and I imagine they’ll skip out on getting together for now.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Si-Woo rebound back to Yoo-Jin, who ends up having second thoughts about being with Ki-Jun. That’s just a guess at this point though!

This is a Koreatown-based dating show that takes a unique approach to the genre by focusing on love and weather. The show follows two people as they try to find love in the face of all the obstacles in their lives.
