Peacemaker is a show of two halves. The first four episodes are awkwardly contrived, full of hit or miss action and armed with misfiring comedy. The second half lets loose, delivering a crazy and manic action-packed finale that leans into the wackiness of the show. Peacemaker still has the same issues here, but it’s much more driven and enjoyable than those early chapters were.

The Suicide Squad was a team of supervillains who were hired by the government to take down super villains. After the events of last year’s Suicide Squad, Peacemaker is one of the members of the team. He returns home and is recruited to a top-secret operation codenamed Butterfly. The mission is to take down a super villain who has been causing chaos in the city.

Clemson Murn, the man in charge of the operation, has all the cards. He could easily put Peacemaker behind bars at a moment’s notice. But Peacemaker joins the gang and soon learns that this case is far more complicated than he could have ever imagined.

Peacemaker is a show with a lot of moving parts, but it’s held together by its strong storytelling. Unfortunately, some of the subplots feel underdeveloped and are undermined by jokes that don’t fit the tone of the show. However, overall Peacemaker is an engaging show with strong writing. ..

The jokes in “The Flash” can be hit or miss. One episode saw a recurring joke about a missing pinky toe that wasn’t funny the first time and it’s not funny for the remainder of the episode. ..

The humour in this piece is a little off-putting to some readers. There are a few jokes that work but the one that is the most misshapen and contrived is the one that features the Fray Boy.

The showrunners and creators have done a great job of creating a world that feels both familiar and unique, while still managing to be interesting and exciting. The characters are well-drawn and the story is compelling, making Peacemaker one of the better superhero series on television.

Peacemaker is an ambitious but ultimately disappointing series that drags on for far too long and leaves you feeling indifferent after its conclusion. ..
